This 8-week program provides participants with comprehensive instruction in Glam and Special Effects Makeup. Under the guidance of a professional Makeup Artist, participants will gain hands-on experience while developing both technical skills and creative expression. Each participant will be supplied with an individual makeup kit and will actively engage in practical application throughout the program.
The curriculum is divided into two instructional phases:
Phase One: Beauty (Glam) Makeup
The first portion of the program focuses on foundational beauty makeup techniques. Participants will receive instruction in:
Eyeshadow application, brow shaping, mascara, and lip color
Skin preparation, including the use of primers, setting powders, and setting sprays
Highlighting and contouring techniques to enhance facial structure
Upon completion of this phase, participants will apply a full-face makeup look on a model. Their work will be professionally photographed to support portfolio development.
Phase Two: Special Effects Makeup
The second phase introduces participants to Special Effects (SFX) makeup techniques. Instruction will include the use of cosmetics and prosthetic appliances to create realistic effects such as:
Bruising, cuts, and wounds
Blood effects
Aging and character makeup
Deformities, mutations, and other theatrical effects
Capstone Project
As a culminating project, participants will produce an instructional video demonstrating a Special Effects makeup technique of their choice. This project is designed to reinforce technical proficiency, creativity, and professional presentation skills.
